Krafton’s highly anticipated life simulation game inZOI has officially pushed back its early access launch date to March 28, 2025. Krafton originally slated the game for a late 2024 launch on PC via Steam, but will take additional development time following successful player engagement with its character creator demo.
Hyungjun Kim, the game’s director and producer, made the announcement through inZOI’s official Discord channel, citing the overwhelming response to the game’s Canvas feature as a key factor in the decision. The feature, which allowed players to share their character creations during the demo period, demonstrated significant community interest that prompted the team to ensure a more polished early access release.
Built on Unreal Engine 5, inZOI has drawn considerable attention as a potential competitor to The Sims, offering realistic graphics and comprehensive life simulation features. Players can create customized characters called Zois, construct and decorate homes, pursue careers, and engage in various life activities.
The development team at Krafton, known for publishing PUBG: Battlegrounds, made the decision after reviewing player feedback and analyzing playtest data. Kim emphasized the studio’s commitment to delivering “the most complete experience possible” at launch, acknowledging the responsibility they feel toward their player base.
The announcement comes at a time when the life simulation genre has faced recent setbacks, notably with Paradox Interactive’s cancellation of Life by You in June. However, the inZOI team’s transparent communication about the delay of the launch and continued development has been met with understanding from the community, with many players expressing support for the decision to prioritize quality over rushing to release.
