As we approach the summer season, Bandai Namco has revealed that Lidia Sobieska will be joining the Tekken 8 roster as the next DLC.
Revealed right before the Top 8 of Tekken 8 in EVO Japan, Lidia Sobieska was unveiled alongside the Season 1 trailer.
Within the trailer, the team briefly mentioned the contents that players can expect to see in the first year of Tekken 8, which includes:
- Spring – Battle Balance
- Summer – New Stage: Seaside Resort, Photo Mode
- Autumn – New Update to Main Storyline
- Online Practice, Ghost vs Ghost, and more!
Nearing the end of the trailer, we can see Lidia Sobieska on the seaside resort performing her signature karate moves, before being confirmed to be a DLC character coming this summer.
Interestingly enough, this is the 2nd time that Lidia was released alongside a summer-themed stage in Tekken. Back in Tekken 7, she was released alongside the Island Paradise stage in Season 4 DLC as well.
As of writing, there is no exact date on when the Polish prime president will arrive at Tekken 8, nor have any details on her move set been explained. But we can expect those when she is about to be released, seeing that Eddy Gordo, the previous DLC character was handled that way.
Looking back at Tekken 7, Lidia Sobieska was a hyper rush-down character that constantly forced the opponents into mixup scenarios should her moves land, similar to Hwoarang. However, her stances were rather limiting as the move’s risk-reward is rarely in her favor, while the initial moves that go into stance are quite easy to step.
Knowing that the movement in Tekken 8 is significantly stronger, it will be interesting to see how the developers plan to implement her playstyle to fit her aggressive nature.
Feel the power of every hit in Tekken 8, the latest entry in the legendary fighting game franchise from Bandai Namco.
