LEGO has decided to delay its upcoming Titan Overwatch 2 set, as it re-evaluates its working relationship with a scandal-laden Activision Blizzard.
The LEGO Overwatch 2 Titan set was supposed to release on February 1st, featuring a giant Omnic and minifigures of Tracer and Mei. However, just weeks out from its release, it looks like LEGO is delaying the set as it rethinks its relationship with Activision Blizzard.
“We are currently reviewing our partnership with Activision Blizzard, given concerns about the progress being made to address continuing allegations regarding workplace culture, especially the treatment of female colleagues and creating a diverse and inclusive environment. While we complete the review, we will pause the release of a LEGO Overwatch 2 product which was due to go on sale on February 1, 2022”, The LEGO Group tells The Brick Fan in a statement.
What’s interesting to note is that LEGO straight up mentions the ongoing scandals with Activision Blizzard, which saw the companie’s reputation tank following investigations into sexual harassment at the company, as well as cover-ups by its CEO.
This isn’t the first time LEGO has ended its partnerships over real-life issues- they famously cut their ties with petrol company Shell following pressure from Greenpeace about Shell’s harm to the environment.
