The global closed beta test for Mega Man X DiVE was successfully, so if you are fan of the series, we hope you took the chance to give the titular character’s latest mobile outing a try. We thought long and hard as to how we were going to segue into detailing this cryptically-written press release from Capcom Taiwan on Mizuno Keisuke, the in-house artist for the Mega Man series, but gave up eventually. So here is our attempt at truly free-balling it and interpreting a document that seems like it was fed through a machine translator.
The press release talks about the character designs in the game, and a mention was made about RiCO, the navigator who will guide players along the way. Mizuno expressed his concerns on whether he could replicate the classic feeling of the game, and the end result is something that he quite satisfied with.
Elaborating on RiCO, Mizuno decided to give her a short hair cut and a ponytail, while the clothing is military-themed. He made sure to keep the essence of what characters in the Mega Man universe would be like, and hopes to keep working on future iterations. The press release then switches gears and mentions Mizuno’s impression on the PVP and co-op modes. Unsurprisingly it is on a positive note.
Feedback will be collected by Capcom from the closed beta to address any shortcomings prior to the actual launch of the game, whenever that may be. Just as we were about end this article, it came to our attention that the press release is referencing an interview done with Mizuno, which is unfortunately entirely in Traditional Chinese. If you are able to make sense of it, we invite you to take a gander. Also be sure to drop by the official Facebook page for the latest details.
