Screenshots and details of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered have surfaced online following a leak from a Virtuos website. The images, first spotted on Resetera, show comparison shots between the original 2006 game and the upcoming remaster, along with promotional artwork. According to the leaked information, Bethesda Dallas and Bethesda Rockville are collaborating with Virtuos on the project. The remaster is slated for release on PC, Xbox Series X|S (including Game Pass), and PlayStation 5.

The game will reportedly launch with two editions. The Deluxe Edition will include bonus content such as extra weapons and horse armor—a playful reference to the infamous horse armor DLC for the original game that became a long-standing meme within the gaming community.
Beyond visual improvements, the remaster appears to feature significant mechanical overhauls. The combat system has reportedly been updated with blocking mechanics inspired by Souls-like games, while the stealth system now includes highlighted sneak icons. The stamina system has been modified to be less punishing, making it harder for players to be knocked down when their stamina is depleted.

Other reported improvements include a redesigned HUD intended to be more intuitive and visually appealing to younger players, enhanced hit reactions for both players and NPCs, and modernized archery mechanics for both first and third-person perspectives.
Virtuos, established in 2004, is known for supporting development of major titles and porting games to new platforms. The studio has previously contributed to franchises like Call of Duty, Tomb Raider, Dark Souls, and Horizon, and is currently assisting Konami with the Metal Gear Solid 3 remake.
