Good news for those who want to see League of Legends on mobile, your wish is coming true! According to Reuters, Tencent and Riot Games have been working on the League of Legends mobile version for over a year. However, the mobile game is unlikely to get its release in 2019.
Launched in 2009, League of Legends is one of the most popular PC MOBA game in the global market with over 100 million active players per month recorded by September 2016. China’s gaming giant, Tencent has fully owned the developer, Riot Games since 2015 and has proposed a mobile version of LoL years ago.
Riot reportedly rejected the proposal, which Tencent then developed Honor of Kings (王者荣耀) that became the world’s highest grossing MOBA game on mobile. Although an international adaption of Honor of Kings – Arena of Valor was released later, it doesn’t bring excellent result and has been regarded as a flop.
With the release of League of Legends‘ mobile version, we could expect more Asian or mobile players to join the huge fanbase. What are your thoughts? Would you want to play the mobile version? Tell us your opinions below!
