The nomadic survival MMO developed by Donkey Crew – Last Oasis has just announced that their season 5 major update will be out today on 2nd August 2022, for Steam, Xbox One and Xbox Series X & S.
The update will be introducing a variety of anticipated features like PvE maps for first-time players, better options for solo play, gigantic boss-type creatures, improved enemy AI, schematics, and a lot more.
What’s New In Season 5?
Walkers – Giant walking machines players build for fighting, exploring, and harvesting on the move.
Art style/theme – Last Oasis has a unique visual style and theme of a late post-apocalyptic Earth, where Nomads struggle to survive under a burning sun.
Creatures with intelligent AI that you can fight both from your walker and in-person – creatures in Last Oasis all have unique behaviors and serve various purposes in their hunt. Players can fight them both on walkers and in personal combat, depending on size and behavior.
Directional melee combat – Last Oasis is the only Survival game that offers fully directional combat, heavily inspired by Mount & Blade, For Honor, and other titles.
Giant boss-type monsters with battle howdahs, full of Rupu-controlled siege weapons – Offer never-before-seen challenges in hunting them down.
Schematics are a reworked technology acquisition mechanic, which will greatly affect progression and player-run economy – Schematics are a special type of an item that allows a player to craft or build a specific item or structure, defined by it.
Grappling Hooks, Wingsuits, and Flying Walkers – Vertical movement allows for the first in its genre freedom of movement, both for exploration and combat.
New Rupu types and overhauled Rupu Camps – Players will experience melee-focused PvE early on, but later fortified camps will require planning, preparation, and tactics to raid them, as they’re not defended by siege fortifications and ranged weapons.
Features and overhauled core gameplay loops that will allow significantly more interesting gameplay for solo players and small groups:
- Automatons and remote weapons that allow solo players to use weapons while driving their walker will make it possible to engage in combat without a large clan to man the weapons in a fight.
- PvE maps that allow players to take risks and play at their own pace – Addition of PvE-only maps, while keeping PvP maps as an option that provides significant rewards for the most bloodlusting players.
Completely overhauled travel system will impact PvP and exploring in search of better resources – Encourages players to take risks by leaving their bases to explore other maps whenever they need unique resources found only elsewhere on a giant World Map.
New siege weapon types, including the Stingers and heavy-hitting Rokker – Players will be able to use many new weapons to achieve their goals in combat, both PvE and PvP.
