KONAMI Unveils SILENT HILL f, New Series Entry with Japanese Horror Setting

Konami Digital Entertainment (KONAMI) has revealed extensive new details about “SILENT HILL f,” the latest installment in their legendary horror franchise. Set in 1960s Japan, this new chapter marks a significant departure for the series while promising to maintain the psychological horror elements that fans have come to expect.

The game transports players to the remote mountain town of Ebisugaoka, where teenager Shimizu Hinako’s ordinary life is upended when a mysterious fog descends upon her hometown. As the town appears abandoned and unknown threats emerge from the mist, players will guide Hinako through solving intricate puzzles and confronting horrifying entities as she navigates between “beauty and madness.”

Acclaimed writer Ryukishi07, known for “Higurashi When They Cry” and “Umineko When They Cry,” leads the narrative development. “I’ve poured all my efforts into this story, so much so that I don’t think I would mind if it was the last thing I ever wrote,” Ryukishi07 stated, expressing both his personal connection to the SILENT HILL franchise and his hope that players will appreciate this Japanese setting.

The creative team includes celebrated illustrator and monster designer kera, who draws inspiration from SILENT HILL 2 while bringing fresh visual elements to the series. Legendary composer Akira Yamaoka returns to craft the game’s Fog World soundscapes, while Kensuke Inage, credited on over 30 game titles, will compose music for the Otherworld segments.

Following the success of the SILENT HILL 2 remake, producer Motoi Okamoto is leading this project with a vision to reinvigorate the series through its first-ever Japanese setting, balancing traditional psychological horror with elements of Japanese folklore.

SILENT HILL f will be available on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC via Steam, Microsoft Store, and Epic Games Store. Players can wishlist the game now on all platform stores.
