Konami has officially announced Suikoden: The Anime, an animated adaptation based on the beloved RPG Suikoden II. The announcement came during the Gensō Suikoden Live 2025.3.4 livestream event.
The anime will be produced by Konami Animation, marking the studio’s first venture into anime series production. The project brings together director Yūzō Satō (YUZO) and producer Ryō Hino from NBCUniversal Entertainment Japan’s Anime & Music Production Division.
“I am very honored to be a part of this huge project, Suikoden: The Anime,” said Hino.
“It is not only for original fans like me. These relationships between characters, and this dramatic story, I’m looking forward to sharing the story with even more people. There will be more info regarding the anime from here on out, and we will share each info with care, so please look forward to it. We will appreciate your support!”
Director YUZO added, “Everyone is working hard to make the anime something that can expand on the charms of the game. Please look forward to more info!”

The team has promised to share additional information about the anime adaptation in the coming months. No release date or casting details have been announced yet. Suikoden II, originally released in 1998, is widely regarded as one of the finest JRPGs of its era, known for its complex political storyline and large cast of recruitable characters.
