During the recent Xbox Partner Preview event, Konami unveiled plans for a new open-world action RPG based on Hiro Mashima’s popular manga and anime series, Edens Zero. Konami plans to release the game in 2025.
The upcoming title will allow players to explore the Sakura Cosmos, immersing themselves in the world of ‘Edens Zero’. Gamers will take control of the protagonist, Shiki Granbell, as he embarks on a quest to find the cosmic entity known as Mother. Other characters from the series will also be playable, each with their own unique abilities.
Currently, the game is confirmed for release on Xbox Series X|S and PC. Konami has hinted at the possibility of additional platforms, stating “consoles and PC” in the video description, but has not yet announced specific details.
The announcement trailer, showcased during the Xbox event, gave fans a glimpse of what to expect from the game. According to the description, players will have the opportunity to relive the story of the manga while exploring an open-world planet featuring familiar characters from the series.
This isn’t Konami’s first venture into the Edens Zero universe. The company previously assisted with developing Edens Zero Pocket Galaxy, a mobile game that developers have since discontinued. For those unfamiliar with the source material, creators set Edens Zero in the Cosmic Era year X492, a time when people commonly travel between stars. The story follows Shiki, a boy with gravity-controlling powers, and Rebecca, a video streamer, as they embark on an adventure through space.
