Komi-San will be returning, as it is confirmed that Komi Can’t Communicate will be getting a season 2. And it will also be coming fairly soon as it will premiere on Netflix in April 2022, during the Spring 2022 anime season.
This was announced shortly after the airing of the final episode of season 1. Netflix made the announcement on Twitter and released a short and rather quirky teaser trailer to coincide with the announcement.
It shows Komi-san standing in front of a green screen being encouraged by her friends to announce season 2 using her notepad. As she quietly utters the announcement, they swarm to her in support and celebration.
Komi Can’t Communicate, based on the web novel turned manga by Tomohito Oda, is the story of Shouko Komi, a popular high school girl with crippling communication problems. She meets with an average high school boy named Hitohito Tadano who vows to help her make 100 friends.
The first season of the anime premiered on Netflix on October 7th, 2021, and aired a new episode every week, forgoing the usual binge-watch style of Netflix releases where the entire season is released at once.
The binge style tends not to be popular among anime fans who prefer episodes to be released as they are being aired on National broadcasts in Japan. Hopefully, season 2 will continue the weekly release format.
