Koei Tecmo and Omega Force have released their latest addition to the Warriors franchise, Warriors: Abyss, combining the series’ signature 1-vs-1000 combat with roguelite elements. The game is available now on PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC via Steam, with a Nintendo Switch version scheduled for release on February 13.
Warriors: Abyss takes players to a hellish setting where they’ll battle through randomly generated stages against hordes of enemies. The game features over 100 playable characters, with players able to recruit allies throughout their journey. A key innovation is the “Summoning Heroes” system, allowing players to build a team of up to seven characters, each bringing unique tactics and abilities to the battlefield. With this extensive roster, Koei Tecmo claims the game offers over 16 billion possible character combinations.
The game’s roguelite elements encourage replayability, with each playthrough offering different experiences through randomized stages and items. Players will face challenging battles in various hellish environments under the guidance of Enma, the King of the Underworld.

Koei Tecmo has announced plans for post-launch support, including free character releases. The first update will introduce characters from the Dynasty Warriors series’ Jin kingdom, with future updates potentially featuring characters from outside the Warriors franchise. As a launch promotion, players who purchase Warriors: Abyss before March 14, 2025, will receive a free Dynasty Warriors Costume Set, available through the game’s main menu.
