The Knights of Sidonia mobile game has a release date in Japan, after a fairly successful pre-registration campaign.
Titled Shoui No Kizuna, the Knights of Sidonia mobile game will release on August 12, 2021 for Android and iOS devices.
According to the game’s official Twitter, it surpassed 40,000 pre registrations, the maximum goal set by the developers. As a reward for hitting the milestone, all players will receive 4400 Photosynthesis stones, as well as a special dress for Ena based on her appearance in the anime.
Knights of Sidonia is in the middle of a revival, following the release of a movie earlier this year as well as the smartphone game.
Previously, it was released as an anime which received two seasons, adapted from a manga written by Tsutomu Nihei.
The series focuses on the starship Sidonia- a vessel carrying the last of humanity as it fights of the Gauna, a bizarre species of alien that can only be killed by destroying their cores. Despite being humans, the denizens of Sidonia display a lot of genetic modification, such as being able to feed via photosynthesis and engaging in asexual reproduction.
The main character, Nagate Tanikaze, lives in the underbelly of the Sidonia, before becoming a Gardes pilot, that is, a giant robot built to fight off the Gauna.
