Via Twitter, Japan-based developer Sting announced a delay of the launch of Knights in the Nightmare Remaster for the Android and iOS platforms as well as the Nintendo Switch. Instead of the initially planned 2021 release, the game will instead come out sometime in spring 2022, which is give or take, another four months or so. The developer has issued the apology while emphasising that Knights in the Nightmare Remaster is an upgrade and not a mere port.
A description for the game as follows by way of the back of the packaging:
Somewhere between heaven and the underworld, a mysterious Wisp is re-awakening the souls of the dead to confront the evil that took their lives and kingdom. Control this spirit and command fallen knights in this captivating story of loss and redemption.
-
Frantic arcade-style action + Complex RPG tactics = A game unlike any seen before
-
Recruit over 100 knights, each with unique histories and relationships to uncover
-
Unlock multiple endings and replay the story with alternate characters
To reiterate, Knights in the Nightmare is notorious for its complexity and difficulty, so it would be interesting to see how the game fares in this day and age. Even if it does not win over a new audience, fans of the original should be able to appreciate the spruced up graphics and play it on their device of choice.
