Update – 12/8/22: Kirby’s Dream Buffet now has a release date of August 17th, 2022. The Kirby take on Fall Guys will be rolling in next week.
A new Kirby spin-off game called Kirby’s Dream Buffet has been announced for Nintendo Switch, which seemingly combines the pink puffball with Fall Guys.
Kirby’s Dream Buffet is due to release as a digital-only title on the Nintendo Switch eShop this summer.
Get your first taste of the sweet puffball’s latest adventure with the newly released trailer:
“Hungry for some 4-player Kirby fun? Race through delicious obstacle courses, collect the most strawberries, and thwart your competition using familiar abilities.”
Kirby’s Dream Buffer sees Kirby transformed into a ball, similar to the DS spin-off game Kirby Canvas Curse. From here, Kirby and three of his clones race across several delicious dessert tables in a Fall Guys style obstacle course to see who can eat the tastiest treats.
Instead of his usual copy abilities, Kirby now seems to have the power to turn into various desserts like a cupcake and a bar of chocolate.
It reminds me a lot of the Kirby Super Star mini-game The Gourmet Race which sees Kirby and King Dedede racing to eat the most food. Only in this game, Kirby will be rolling instead of running.
2022 must be a blessed year to receive not one but two Kirby games with the latest in the mainline series, Kirby and The Forgotten Land releasing earlier this April.
Kirby’s Dream Buffet will be available on the Nintendo Switch eShop later this summer.
