A new Kirby game, Kirby and The Forgotten Lands was announced at the September Nintendo Direct for the Nintendo Switch and it brings Kirby to a new land and dimension. It arrives in Spring 2022.
The game was actually leaked a few hours before the direct happened by Nintendo themselves (oops).
From what we’ve seen, the game will see Kirby leave his home of Dreamland and explore a forgotten land, what sort of looks like an apocalyptic Earth. Most notably, this will be the first Kirby game in full 3D. Besides that though looks like it’ll be your regular Kirby action. Platforming and sucking up enemies to copy their abilities.
The last main series Kirby game we got was Kirby Star Allies for the Nintendo Switch back in 2018. That wasn’t too long ago but I’m sure Kirby fans have been waiting for the next big entry to the series. With the change to a different world, perhaps Discovery of The Stars will offer a fresh new Kirby experience.
Kirby and The Forgotten Lands will be coming exclusively to Nintendo Switch in Spring 2022.
It’s always good to see more first-party titles coming to the Switch. If you’re a fan of Nintendo, check out our review of the recently released WarioWare Get It Together.
