KILLTUBE, a new anime movie has been unveiled by the entertainment company behind ‘Bookmark 14’, Chocolate Inc.
The movie is first revealed through an X/Twitter post accompanied by its very own pilot film, showcasing some of the characters and the world setting of the movie.
Set in an alternate Edo Period in 2026, the society of this era lives in a strict social class system, with the only way to change one’s social status is by participating in ‘duel streaming’. As rewards will be given depending on view count and high-class weapons will be distributed by sponsors.
Among the duel streamers, the top seven streamers have enough influence to build a castle in the country.
KILLTUBE will follow the story of Killtuber Musashi, Producer Kikuchiyo, and Engineer Reo, three people from the lowest social class who recklessly jump into the world of dueling due to an encounter, fighting off the ridiculing public and breaking free from their ‘shackles’.
The anime movie will be produced by CHOCOLATE Inc in collaboration with KASSEN and WACHAJACK and is slated to be released in cinemas globally in 2026.
CHOCOLATE Inc, the entertainment company behind KILLTUBE is known for its other movies such as Bookmark 14, with KILLTUBE being the first anime release from the company.
KASSEN and WACHAJACK, the two companies collaborating to make KILLTUBE are a Video Effects production company and a concept art studio respectively, the former is well-known for making the music video for YOASOBI’s ‘Umi no Mani Mani’, and the latter is known for making the concept art for well-known game franchises such as NieR and Final Fantasy VII Remake.
