We all know the infectious song of Khalid’s Young Dumb & Broke that has been hitting radio station’s top billboard singles. The song re-imagined in the VR experience, Khalid Young Dumb & Broke VR, will also hit the PlayStation Store on the 29th March 2018 for the PlayStation VR. It’s not a game but it’s a Virtual Reality experience that will take you on a journey with Khalid in his epic Young Dumb & Broke music video.
Announced by Sony Interactive Entertainment Hong Kong Limited Singapore Branch (SIES), the Khalid Young Dumb & Broke VR was launched as a part of its Lost in Music campaign. The VR experience will take music fans on an immersive journey through his music video which is a RIAA certified 3x platinum single.
Once fans are in the VR world, they will be immediately placed in the driver’s seat of a classic car. Khalid will then make his appearance in the VR, welcoming you and take you on an amazing trip through the cityscapes, the far reaches of the cosmos and high school football fields. There are also jellyfish swirling rhythmically around you, gargantuan orbiting planets and many other surprises in the music experience through the power of PlayStation VR. The Young Dumb & Broke music video will be projected onto this mesmerizing world, transforming it into a unique extrasensory adventure.
As this is the first VR experience involving an Artist, we can expect more to come with Sony collaborating with other Artists in the future. This could also revolutionize how live concerts will be. For example, a recorded live concert or a re-imagined live concert could be created for music fans who had little time or missed the concert to experience it in VR. Since music fans usually pay an amount of money for a live concert, it is also possible that a VR concert featuring real Artists could be realized. That way, once bought, fans can also revisit the live concert in the VR anytime they want! Imagine going to a re-imagined concert of the legendary late Michael Jackson in VR! Think of the possibilites!
