Kazuya Mishima is the newest character announced for Super Smash Bros Ultimate, representing the Tekken series.
The trailer shows the son of Heihachi Mishima giving various characters the Mishima family tradition of being chucked off of a volcano, though as always Kirby is not so easily thrown off the edge.
Like other fighting game representatives Ryu, Ken and Terry, Kazuya looks like he’s going to be quite true to his source material, with moves all based off of his kit from Tekken.
Sakurai hasn’t done a deep dive on Kazuya in Smash yet, however, so we won’t know yet if you’ll be able to do Electric God Wind Fist, if you get your inputs right.
Sure enough Kazuya also has his Devil Gene, though it’s not entirely clear what it does since we haven’t had a breakdown from Sakurai and it doesn’t stick around like Joker’s Arsene install.
It makes sense that Kazuya would be the final Smash DLC for Smash Bros Ultimate- Tekken is developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment, who also co-developed Super Smash Bros Ultimate.
Considering Tekken doesn’t have as many complex inputs as games like King of Fighters or Street Fighter, there should be less uproar about yet another fighting game character adding motion inputs to the otherwise simplified Smash.
