Kakao Games has secured the rights to publish TERA Frontier globally. This confirms that there will be a global version of TERA Frontier.
Previously, Kakao Games announced that they were set to publish TERA Frontier in South Korea back in February 2018. As the title suggested, the upcoming mobile game is based on the popular TERA IP by Bluehole. Before the advent of the revolutionary PlayerUnknown’s Battleground (PUBG), TERA was Bluehole’s bread and butter.
This is not the first time the franchise is making a move into the mobile gaming industry. If you have been following us for some time, you may remember Netmarble’s TERA M back in November 2017. Unfortunately, TERA M did not receive favourable reviews most likely due to it being unfriendly to F2P players.
Developed by Red Sahara Studio (acquired by Bluehole), TERA Frontier runs on Unreal Engine 4 thus promising great graphics. Furthermore, the game promises the availability of the massive world overview from the PC original. In addition, it focuses on party play along with large-scale PvP and PvE battles for the mobile system. Other than that, not much information is available on the game.
Despite the poor reception that TERA M received, expectations are high on TERA Frontier. Currently, they have already one-upped TERA M by confirming the release of a global version. According to Kakao Games, the upcoming mobile game will launch next year despite giving no exact release date.
