Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress – Ran: Hajimaru Michiato is now available on both mobile and PC (via DMM) in Japan. The game marks the first time the anime series receives a video game adaptation.
Kabeneri of the Iron Fortress anime series first aired on April 8, 2016. The series had a total of 12 episodes and airing ended on June 30, 2016. Since then, the series garnered a huge following. The popularity played a hand in the decision to make the new game. Furthermore, an animated movie set 6 months after the end of the anime series is scheduled for a 2019 Q2 premiere in Japan.
Developed by DMM, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress – Ran takes place 3 months following the end of the animated series. The story takes place in the fictional setting, Nakanokuni. Other than recurring characters from the anime like Mumei, the spin-off game features its own original characters. New main characters like Kaname and Haya make their debut in the franchise.
Gameplay-wise, the game plays as a simple RPG that runs on auto. Players do not need to do much thanks to the game’s automated combat system. On the other hand, the game requires players to tap their skills at the right time for proper usage. Players who do not feel the need to do so can turn on auto skills.
The game’s pre-registration event has been a success as the milestones have all been cleared. Players will receive the rewards upon logging into the game.
At the moment, Kabaneri of the Iron Fortress – Ran: Hajimaru Michiato is only available in Japan. Interested fans can obtain the game from the App Store, Google Play and DMM for PC players. For more information, you can visit the game’s official site.
