Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade teased a little bit more of the mobile game’s gameplay, rendered in honestly quite great graphics. You can check out the promotional video below, featuring the game’s theme song, “Avant” by EVE:
The animation shown within the video looks incredibly smooth and fluid, with transitions between sequences looking quite sweet. The little clip of the battle system shows up to 4 skills for a character with up to 4 characters to a party. Skills have their costs and are presumably colour coded depending on what they do. We can see Nobara having a maxed out gauge with a purple aura around her, which should signify her ultimate being ready.
Battles look turn-based at this stage, with waves of enemies, ability to speed up game speed as well as our old friend, auto battle.
Besides the gameplay, the Jujutsu Kaisen: Phantom Parade teaser does also bring some bad news: the game will be releasing in 2023 instead of within 2022. The window given is for Spring 2023. Perhaps we could expect it around the same time as the next season of the anime, itself also slated for a 2023 release.
For the unfamiliar, you can read a summary of the anime from Crunchyroll:
Yuji Itadori is a boy with tremendous physical strength, though he lives a completely ordinary high school life. One day, to save a classmate who has been attacked by curses, he eats the finger of Ryomen Sukuna, taking the curse into his own soul. From then on, he shares one body with Ryomen Sukuna. Guided by the most powerful of sorcerers, Satoru Gojo, Itadori is admitted to Tokyo Jujutsu High School, an organization that fights the curses… and thus begins the heroic tale of a boy who became a curse to exorcise a curse, a life from which he could never turn back.
