Jujutsu Kaisen Experience is the first Jujutsu Kaisen pop-up event in Malaysia. The full experience will be held from 27 April to 27 July 2024 at Pavilion Bukit Jalil, Level 3 Pink Zone (Lot 102, 103 & 58).
Organised jointly by ACOLAB and ACO MEDIA, the event promises to be the best experience for local Jujutsu Kaisen fans as everything has been 100% licensed by the copyright holders.
Upon our arrival, we each received a souvenir card depicting one of the characters from the anime. Songs from both seasons constantly play across the locations, firmly putting us in the mood to experience everything the place has to offer. The full experience consists of the pop-up photo zone, merchandise store and collaboration cafe.
Pop-Up Photo Zone
This segment features over 5 photoshoot stages where fans can pose and snap pictures with their favorite Jujutsu Kaisen characters. Albeit not fully to scale, the standees are as tall as the average person and are solidly made of wood and metal, which are heavy and sturdy enough to handle without much concern.
One of the photoshoot sites that really stood out for us was a scene of Mahito’s cursed technique spanning across the entire wall. Although in reality it was probably around the same size as the other photoshoot sites, the sheer sight of those arms really amplified the scale of this particular one.
Merchandise Shop
Located right next to the photo zone, the merchandise shop is certainly worth making the trip here, even if you skip everything else. With over 120 exclusive limited-edition Jujutsu Kaisen merchandise items ranging from shirts, posters keychains and bookmarks, it’s an absolute paradise for fans of the anime.
Overall prices are a bit on the high side, but that comes naturally as a result of both the quality and the assurance that every product is authentic.
Collectors with some money to spend might want to keep an eye on some limited-edition figurines, including 1/7 scale figures of Satoru Gojo and Yuji Itadori. There is also a photo booth in the store where you can take some personalized photos to take home with you. With 4 different designs, each photo sheet is priced at RM20 for the first one and RM10 for additional sheets.
Collab Cafe
As one of the main organizers of the experience, the event is collaborating with the newly opened Acolab cafe located opposite the other two attractions. The collaboration menu consists of 4 main dishes, 4 drinks and 2 desserts themed around the characters from the anime.
We personally tried out the Gojo and Megumi themed dishes and were pleasantly surprised to find them served with small details for the attentive-eyed diners, such as the nachos in Megumi’s item printed with dog faces.
Generally, we found the cafe items reasonably priced for the experience of eating with your favourite Jujutsu Kaisen character.
Impressions
All in all, the Jujutsu Kaisen Experience is mainly organized with fans of the anime in mind, which will let even newcomers to the series to gain the most out of their time there without fear of encountering any manga spoilers.
Even if you’re not planning to try out the other attractions, the merchandise shop alone is definitely a must-visit for the avid fan to get some high-quality exclusive goods.
