Arguably one of the most popular anime series in recent months, Jujutsu Kaisen will receive a Season 3, continuing its story into the manga’s “Culling Game” arc.
A teaser trailer was posted on the anime’s official website, confirming that Jujutsu Kaisen is getting a Season 3 with Studio MAPPA to continue to produce the show.
The announcement was made shortly after the final episode of the anime’s second season, the “Shibuya Incident” arc, aired in Japan on Thursday.
Season 3 will focus on the “Culling Game” arc, the ninth arc in the manga series written by Gege Akutami, but note that it is not the arc directly after the recently finished “Shibuya Incident” arc.
However, it does make sense for Studio MAPPA to announce the season focusing on the ninth arc as the two arcs before the “Culling Game” have titles that contain major spoilers for fans who have not read the manga series.
The second season was screened for two cours for a continuous half-year run and adapted both the “Hidden Inventory / Premature Death” arc and the “Shibuya Incident” arc, with the former beginning airing on July 6th of this year.
Suppose you have not read or watched the series, Jujutsu Kaisen is a supernatural dark fantasy that follows Yuji Itadori as he gets intertwined with the world of Jujutsu Sorcerers and Curses, with him becoming the host to Ryomen Sukuna, the central antagonist of the series.
