A special Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure 35th Anniversary ” JOJO Magazine” has been announced, celebrating almost four decades of one of the most popular shonen manga ever published.
The magazine will be published on March 19th, 2022 and will be available both digitally and physically.
The JOJO Magazine will feature a special cover, with an all-nerw illustration drawn by series creator Hirohiko Araki, featuring Jolyne Cujoh and her father, Jotaro Kujo from the currently-running Stone Ocean anime.
The magazine will also feature a new one-shot addition to Thus Spoke Kishibe Rohan, the spinoff about Mangaka character Kishibe Rohan from Diamond is Unbreakable.
It will also include new short stories, though they haven’t teased what the content would be about.
Finally, the magazine will also include a feature on the Stone Ocean anime adaptation, though there’s no way of telling ahead of time what that might include, such as whether or not we might get information on the release date for part 2 of Stone Ocean.
35 Bizarre Years
Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure celebrates its 35th anniversary in 2022, with the first chapter of Phantom Blood having been published on January 1st, 1987.
The series has accomplished a lot in its long lifespan- despite all being under the Jojo’s Bizarre Adventure umbrella, part of the series secret to longevity has been its anthological nature: it’s actually comprised of separate “Parts”, all with their own protagonist, plots and even genres.
Most of these parts do take place in the same universe though, with a fairly straightforward progression of time as characters from earlier parts often appear in later parts older.
