Developer Gaming Factory and publisher 4Divinity have announced the official launch date of JDM: Rise of the Scorpion, a playable prologue of JDM: Japanese Drift Master.
JDM: Rise of the Scorpion will be released on 18 July 2024 as a playable prologue for JDM: Japanese Drift Master, which is planning for a release sometime later this year.
In the prologue, players will take on the role of Hatori “Scorpion” Hasashi, a rebellious but outstanding student who brings his pride to the racetrack. Besides the realistic drifting and racing portions, the storyline will be presented through manga panels and serves as an introduction to the story that will continue in the full version of the game.
This prologue will open up access to a previously unseen area of the JDM demo, featuring winding roads to practice and hone your driving skills with a scenic view of the Haikama Lake. A dynamic weather system will add an unpredictable element to the racing experience as the weather will also affect the performance of the cars.
The new locations added with the prologue are also the source of new adventures and challenges. With the introduction of locations such as the school building, houses and the Hasashi family estate, players will get the opportunity to get to know Hatori and other characters from the prologue better.
JDM: Rise of the Scorpion will be available on PC via Steam, Epic Games, and GOG.
