Japan Kita! 2023, a Japanese pop culture event that was originally scheduled to be held from July 29th to July 30th at Shoppes, Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur, has been officially cancelled due to safety reasons.
The event cancellation was announced by CollabStore, the main organizer on their official Facebook page.
“On behalf of the main organising team at CollabStore, we extend our sincerest apologies to the invited guests, sponsors, vendors, attendees, and members of the press for the disappointment and inconvenience.” said a CollabStore representative.
“CollabStore assumes full responsibility for this decision, and none of our affiliated event partners and sponsors are to be held liable.”
“We kindly seek your understanding in these difficult times, and hope for the chance to work together in the future under more favourable conditions.”

Japan Kita! 2023 is a Japanese pop culture event that is originally scheduled to be held from the 29th of July to the 30th of July at Level 3, Shoppes at Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur.
The event is organised in collaboration with THE MAGIC RAIN, Collab Store, and Shoppes at Four Seasons Place and promises to bring attendees music performances, interactive game zones, activities, art exhibitions, and food inspired by Japanese pop culture.
The Japan Kita! 2023 event is said to feature talented Malaysian cosplayers as invited guests like Deadpudds, Lizzy, Fumiko Kriss, and Lily Ayumi, as well as musical performances from Twitch streamer Shykuroboo, Sarah In A Snowstorm, Ian Fewbeats, and Jeisuzuki.
Aside from stage attractions, Japan Kita! 2023 also promises a variety of booths to be explored, featuring talented artists, anime merchandise and collectables, and Japanese food and desserts.
However, as announced by the main organizer CollabStore, Japan Kita! 2023 has now been officially cancelled due to safety concerns.
