Days after the layoffs at Unity, the founders of Israeli company, ironSource, have announced that they will be leaving the video game software development company.
According to a report by Calcalistech, the list of people leaving include CEO Tomer Bar Zeev, Amon Harish, Eyal Milrad, Omer Kaplan, and Tamir Carmi, all of whom have been with ironSource since the beginning.
IronSource mentions that after 15 years since the company was founded, it is time to transfer management to the next generation.
“Since the merger with ironSource, Unity has become a profitable company, and the company’s headquarters in Israel is the largest of its offices worldwide. It is expected to remain strategic and essential for its continued growth.”
“The process of transferring the baton will take about six months, and Tomer Bar Zeev will continue in his role as a member of Unity’s board of directors.” said ironSource founders in answer to their departure.
IronSource had previously been merged with Unity back in November 2022, with Unity shelling out a total of 4.4 Billion dollars the developer.
The departure of ironSource’s founders follow the shift in management within Unity itself, with their Chief Executive Officer, John Riccitiello stepping down from his position back in October 2023.
