Let’s take 5 seconds to mourn our loss of Iron Man in the MCU universe.
Recently we were lucky enough to get our hands on Iron Man VR that will be soon in PS4 exclusively. This time around we visited Penang Esports Festival 2019 and tried the game out ourselves. We all want to be a hero at least one time. We were not allowed to record any gameplay as it was an open event.
Iron Man VR from an overall experience, is a shooting VR like Resident Evil VR. You get to experience a wholesome moment when you shoot and fly everywhere with the Iron Man suit! Check out their announcement trailer here!
Gameplay
You will be starring as Tony Stark just like in the movies, just being a billionaire who makes the Iron Man Suit as a hobby (and maybe for parties). You will start off nearby the mansion and you can also run some tests with your suit. This acts as a tutorial for you to understand how to pilot the suit. The location and suit models in this game matches the actual Iron Man models that we can see within the different universes (comics, movies)!
After all the tests. you get tasked to go on a mission but our time was up.
Controls
The controls was pretty fun but as an inexperienced VR player, this was quite a challenge. The ergonomics are not super sensitive towards the poses that was required to activate a certain function. This was a very nice experience as this helps you to understand the posture and the limit of where your hands should be positioned at.
As for shooting, the satisfaction from seeing your hands shooting beams towards targets was so real. Flying would still be a challenge for me as a lot of these angles that positioning in order to fly properly.
Graphics
With the PS4 Pro, the game looks too amazing to even find a word for it! The repulsors and the HUD for the suit was comfortably positioned. As for building textures and overall environment, it was pretty amazing as well. The details was very well distributed in all travelling locations.
Audio
The sound effect of the game was fantastic, it really compliments the game further for the full experience of being inside an Iron Man suit. Furthermore, Jarvis’s sound was very good and really helps out when needed. From time to time, Pepper Potts will be on call like in the movies. Won’t spoil you for this part, you’ll really need to try this out.
With a whole of 10 minutes of playing the game, it was pretty fun! All that you’d need would be to practice more on the controls and we am sure that your dream journey to become Iron Man will be real!
Be sure to check them out on the developer’s official website here!
