Check out The Chant interview video down with the two of them down below.
The Chant takes an unorthodox approach to amplify dread and tension in gameplay while also paying homage to the classics and still keeping things feeling fresh.
Paul Ruskay knows well on how to invoke horror and he has been deeply influenced in The Chant by cult horror classic soundtracks from the 70s. Collaborating with Mike Skupa has been a great experience to him as the two aim for the feel of 70s and 80s classic horror movies while aiming for an originality that stands out from the rest.
The game features free jazz drum parts, sections of silence to make the players be on their edge and creature sounds to further enhance the horror experience of the game and make it even scarier.
Paul Ruskay has been a leading audio producer of music and sound design for the video game, film and advertising industries for the past 26 years.
The Chant is a cosmic horror action-adventure game developed by Brass Token and published by Prime Matter set to release on November 3rd this year on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
