Instead of speaking like Doraemon, play Doraemon instead

Those of us in Malaysia are probably aware of some suggestions to talk like Doraemon during this whole coronavirus/COVID-19 pandemic, but we have a better suggestion: play Doraemon games instead! The iconic blue robot cat has spanned lots of manga, anime episodes and movies, and of course, video games. While you stay safe indoors, here’s a few games you can pick up:

DORAEMON STORY OF SEASONS (PC Steam, Nintendo Switch)

We reviewed the game right here! Instead of you going outside, have Nobita as your proxy as you do all that good farming shenanigans. Besides that, you can go round catching bugs and fishing, and raise other animals as you normally would in these farming sim games. The added spice is in Doraemon’s handy gadgets, so utilize those to the fullest! No marriage is available in this game, since Nobita is a child and he canonically marries Shizuka, but you can still raise friendships and maybe have Suneo and Giant be less of jerks. The English localization uses the Americanized names.

DORAEMON REPAIR SHOP SEASONS (iOS, Android)

The townspeople are doing some spring cleaning. Old and broken appliances and furniture are getting tossed out of homes. What a waste! Seeing all these, our favorite robot cat has thought of a genius plan. He teams up with his friends and opens up a repair shop using his future gadgets to help repair and restore various items good as new! In exchange for the repairs, the happy townspeople will give Doraemon his favorite snack: Dorayaki. The neighbors were thrilled that their broken items can be repaired in tip-top condition that more and more of them come to the shop, bringing even more stuff! While it’s not out in English, you can get it for the Nintendo Switch on the Japanese store! A more “action-oriented” Doraemon game, it’s pretty much the tie-in game for the movie of the same name. As you can see from the screenshots, it seems to incorporate a large variety of game styles, from dungeon sequences, to fishing, to raising dinosaurs as pets. All these with Doraemon’s gadgets always at the ready, of course!
