Not every day you get to sit down and have a chat with a video game character. With anticipation for Stellar Blade, we were at the game’s launch event in Jakarta, Indonesia, and got the lovely opportunity to catch up with the beautiful Larissa Rochefort cosplaying as EVE.
For the uninitiated, Larissa Rochefort is a popular Indonesian cosplayer, artist, YouTuber, TikToker, and all-around awesome entertainer. Perhaps, you may have seen her bringing Arlecchino from Genshin Impact to life or her awesome Bayonetta cosplay. Aside from EVE from Stellar Blade, she is no stranger to Shift Up, having cosplayed as Diesel, Scarlet, and Modernia from Goddess of Victory: Nikke in the past.

Becoming EVE
As we established earlier, Larissa is cosplaying as EVE, the main character of Stellar Blade, for a meet-and-greet event to celebrate the game’s launch. Looking at how intricate EVE’s costume is, we wonder how difficult it is to bring her to life. In which, Larissa explained to us the challenges and intricacy of creating EVE’s outfit.
“Actually, for the costume itself, it’s complicated because EVE is a character who is actively involved in combat. So, to bring the costume to events, it has to be flexible, using materials that can’t be torn. Like the fabric selection too because from what you can see, EVE is wearing a kind of body suit, so I have to import some material from abroad to get the flexibility.”
The costume is undoubtedly impressive and matches the in-game design almost 1:1, but we noticed that Larissa went for shorter hair compared to EVE’s actual hair length, which is incredibly long. Hearing that, Larissa responded, “Yes, that’s right, because it’s for flexibility as well. Because to come to the Stellar Blade launch event, you’ll be mingling with a lot of people, so you have to wear something more compact, like how when you’re walking around, you don’t get in people’s way or accidentally get stepped on.”
PlayStation Characters to Life
This is not the first time when Larissa has cosplayed a character for a PlayStation event as she unleashed her icy touches and became the Eikon Shiva as well as Jill Warrick for the Final Fantasy XVI launch event at Indonesia Comic Con last year. Looking at how breathtaking the cosplay was, there is no doubt a lot of challenges in crafting both of them into the real world.
“Last year, I had the opportunity to work with PlayStation Asia and Square Enix on the launch of Final Fantasy XVI in Indonesia,” said Larissa. “The more challenging one definitely Shiva, because she is the Eikon figure from Dominant Jill, which was a personal project at the time.”
“For Shiva herself, the cosplay is quite big and feels heavy when going onto the stage, but at the same time, it was very exciting. Because when else can you play the figure of an Eikon, who is described as a monster? The makeup was also challenging because I had to bleach my eyes, and the makeup had to be really pale because Shiva is the Ice Queen, so it had to be pale and also had to be graceful.”
Favorite Cosplay
Larissa has cosplayed many characters over the years, but which is her favorite one? Well, she gave her answers, which are Ada Wong and Tifa Lockhart.
“I still really like Ada Wong from Resident Evil and Tifa Lockhart from Final Fantasy. Those two characters are not the same, because, at the end of the day, they’re both strong female characters who fight following their own beliefs. I really like to cosplay these kinds of characters.”
Memorable Moments
Considering Larissa has been cosplaying for quite a while, she has surely had several achievements and moments she’s proud of, and so we asked about her most memorable moment.
Larissa responded, “There are many! Working with PlayStation was my dream in the past, but now it has finally come true, and I want to give my best to PlayStation to make my dream of working with big brands come true.”
Message For Aspiring Cosplayers
Since she is a cosplayer who has made it big, we asked Larissa if she has any message to share with those who want to pursue their passion in the cosplay field.
To which, Larissa said, “Just be yourself. You don’t have to imitate many people and you have to maintain quality. Because quality, in my opinion, talks about many things. Start from passion, and time, to the effort spent, it will all be seen when you bring out the best quality. So just be yourself, be confident, and don’t forget to pray.”
Here concludes the interview. We would like to thank Larissa Rochefort for taking the time to answer all of our questions. Also, thanks to PlayStation Asia for inviting us to the Stellar Blade launch event!
