Inazuma Eleven SD has been plagued with many delays now, with the current release date being 3 January 2020. It will be a free to play title on smartphones on iOS and Android, with micro-transactions. You can check out the latest trailer for the game below.
As is typically the case, there are pre-registration rewards. The last reached milestone thus far is 50,000, which will provide players a S-rank Kidou Yuuto (Jude Sharp in the dub) unit! S-rank is the highest available rarity in the game.
Like with football (or soccer), you score by kicking the ball into the goal net. Flick your units (or toy figures as it were, in this game) to do so, while impeding your opponent. Play through the original story in “Story Mode”, unlocking maps and new figures. Compete with others in the “Stadium Battle Mode”. It’ll be 5-on-5 matches with your regular actions like dribbling, passing, shooting and blocking available to you.
The game is turn-based. Control your figures by pulling and releasing your finger, to “flick” the figures. You can hit opposing figures to push them aside, and steal the ball if they control it. Your turn ends if you fail to pass the ball, so you better watch out. Blocks occur if the ball passes an opponent figure, which can simply slow down, or completely stop the ball. Special abilities are in the game, so use them to your advantage.
You can check out the game’s official website here. Hopefully, this will be the last time Inazuma Eleven SD gets delayed and will release for real in January.
