Narumi was previously on hiatus since October 15, 2021. As of today, her agency, Stardust Promotion, announced that she will be retiring from the entertainment industry on December 31, 2021. Officially, the reason for retirement is due to poor health, but further details were not disclosed.
As for her role in The Idolm@aster Shiny Colours, a new voice actor is in the midst of being selected. The new voice for Yuika Mitsumine will be announced in February 2022. In addition, Narumi’s audio for many of the game’s songs will be sequentially replaced beginning from April 2022.
Besides Yuika Mitsumine, Narumi also voiced Erika from mobile gacha game KonoSuba: Fantastic Days. Given that she has retired from the industry, it’s only a matter of time before the game follows in the footsteps of The Idolm@aster Shiny Colours. We’ve also reached out to Nexon, the game’s publisher for a response on the matter.
In the meantime, to stay updated on the status of Erika’s voice, be sure to follow the KonoSuba: Fantastic Days Twitter account.
In a similar vein, just two days ago, it was announced that voice actor Tatsuhisa Suzuki will not be returning to his role as Draken in Tokyo Revengers. Suzuki was also allegedly cheating on his partner, popular anisong singer LiSA.
