Idolmaster SideM, the male spinoff of the popular Idolmaster series is getting a new mobile game, after the end of its previous title.
Titled Idolm@ster SideM: Growing Stars, the game will have you raising your own male idols, similar to many other idol-type games on mobile.
Bandai Namco Entertainment hasn’t announced a release date or even released any images of the upcoming Idolmaster SideM game, instead saying they’d do so at a later time, likely when the game is further into development.
The teaser trailer they put out didn’t so much as have images of any of the characters either, instead just being a text announcement of the upcoming mobile game.
Idolmaster SideM has had multiple entries in the mobile market before, such as the currently still-ongoing Idolm@ster SideM, which has been around since 2014. The second SideM mobile game, Live On St@ge, has not been so lucky however, and is due to end services soon.
As a whole The Idolmaster is one of the biggest idol franchises, spanning multiple mobile games as well as console games and anime. Male spin-offs aren’t entirely uncommon in the genre, allowing the franchise to capture larger audiences with a focus on pretty boys instead of girls for a change.
