Idolmaster composer Hidekazu Tanaka has been arrested, following reports that he assaulted a teenager that he followed from the train station.
A report by NHK describes Tanaka as having followed the teenager from another train station, before approaching her.
She reportedly yelled obscenities at the Idolmaster composer, which is where he started to forcibly pull her hand, prompting her to run away.
Thankfully, the girl is unharmed, and following a police report Tanaka has been arrested pending investigation into the matter for “Indecent Assault”.
The NHK report mentions that Tanaka had told officers that he found the girl “the type he liked” before following her to the next station, where he cornered her at the bicycle parking lot.
CCTV footage also shows the man following her, and he was arrested on the 24th.
The Idolmaster social media accounts have not commented on the issue following the reports, though it would not be unlikely if Tanaka saw himself removed from the franchise for this.
Similarly, other games that worked with Tanaka such as Uma Musume have also not released a statement on the issue, or if they would be continuing to work with the composer.
Idolmaster is one of the most popular idol games on the market, with Cinderella Girls itself making over 11 million USD in the past month according to AppMagic.
