Asymmetrical horror game Identity V has just announced a Death Note crossover in its growing list of collaborations.
They announced the Identity V Death Note event via Twitter, featuring a cryptic short video with both the emblem for L as well as main character Light Yagami, in Identity V’s unique art style.
They haven’t given a release date for the crossover event, though it stands to reason that it should be coming to the game in a few weeks. Which characters would be coming and if there would be a new killer hasn’t been confirmed either.
Identity V has had some really interesting crossovers, with games like The Promised Neverland as well as Dangan Ronpa both being featured in the horror-themed multiplayer game.
What Is A Death Note?
Death Note is an iconic anime from the early 2000s, revolving around a magical book who kills any person whose name is written in the book. The book is given to Light Yagami, who first uses it to kill what he perceives as criminals who escaped the law under the pseudonym of “Kira”. L, a genius detective, is assigned the Kira case and the anime is a cat-and-mouse between the two.
The trailer also showed no sign of Ryuk, the Death God who gives the Death Note to Light in the first place. Considering how many iconic characters Death Note has, it’s anyone’s guess how many of them will make the jump into Identity V.
