Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity is getting two waves of DLC in the form of an expansion pass, with the first wave dropping later this week. Wave 1: Pulse of the Ancients will release on June 18, 2021.
Check out its contents in this trailer from Nintendo Direct E3 2021:
For a price of 19.99 USD, players will get all the content in Wave 1: Pulse of the Ancients and Wave 2: Guardian of Remembrance. The latter will land in November later this year. As a purchase bonus, players can unlock the Prototype Ancient Sword and Prototype Ancient Gear costume for Link.
One of the highlights in Wave 1 is being able to play as the Guardian, the huge laser-firing mech that players encounter as a boss in the game.
It also adds two new weapons. Link will have the Flail while Zelda gets the Master Cycle, letting the princess bring a motorcycle to a sword fight ala Dante from Devil May Cry V.
There will also be new challenges in the Royal Ancient Tech Lab. Completing them will unlock weapons and new features.
In addition, there will also be new enemies such as the bomb-throwing Moblin, a Giant Chuchu, and more. A boss rush mode called Dangerous Specimen will also make its way into the game. If you feel the Hyrule Warriors is too easy for you, you can try out the new Apocalyptic difficulty which comes with this expansion pass.
