To celebrate 20 years of solo acts, vocalist HYDE is launching is own game, HYDE RUN, with Phoenixx and developer Grounding Inc. HYDE RUN will be made available on iOS and Android platforms, and pre-registrations are now open for the title set to release mid-July. Also a vocalist of L’Arc-en-Ciel / VAMPS, he appears as the titular character in the game as he runs and parkours through NEO TOKYO. Fans will be able to obtain items related to his solo acts in the game, collecting them and customize a room he can chill in.
The app will be free to play with in-app purchases. As the name suggests, it’s an endless runner game with elements of parkour – with jumps and wall runs – as you swipe on your screen.
You can check out the game’s official website and Twitter to know more. There’s no pre-registration milestones announced at time of writing. The game presumably will sell those cosmetic room decorations besides stuff like stamina or lives, though it hasn’t been clarified at this time either. There’s no mention of how deeply music will be integrated into the game – it is celebrating a musician after all – so stay tuned if you’re a fan of HYDE’s for further information.
