HoYoverse has confirmed that a unified launcher named HoYoPlay (known as miHoYo launcher in China) will be released for all PC games published by them.
According to the post on HoYolab for Genshin Impact and Honkai: Star Rail, the new PC unified launcher will be implemented after the PC client update.
As of writing, no information about the update time has been revealed, nor has any details on how it would be updated. But HoYoverse has said to look out for more information in the future, so we can expect to know more soon.
It is also mentioned in the post that HoYoPlay is a client for Hoyoverse PC games only, so mobile-exclusive games from the company such as Tears of Themis will not be included in the launcher.
For the uninitiated, HoYoPlay is an integrated launcher for all of HoYoverse’s PC games, players will be able to use this launcher to download and launch a variety of different HoYoverse games.
Right now if you want to play any of the HoYoverse games, you would need to download their individual launchers and run them separately. While it is possible to play all their games on the same device, having multiple PC clients makes finding the games a hassle sometimes, especially if the player is not one to normally organize the apps on their PC.
As such, having a unified launcher is welcomed news for fans as they would only need one launcher for all their favorite HoYoverse games. While it is still unknown if future games of the company such as Zenless Zone Zero will be added as well, we can at least look forward to having more convenience when starting up the games.
