Horizon Forbidden West will be launching on the Playstation 5 sometime in 2021, according to an announcement by game director Mathijs de Jonge.
“With the PS5’s SSD, there will be virtually no loading screens. Restarting from a checkpoint will be super fast, and when you boot up the game, you’re right there, in the action.”Mathijs de Jonge
Horizon Forbidden West will be Guerrila Games’ follow up to the acclaimed Horizon Zero Dawn, where Aloy will be heading out to the titular west, from Utah to the Pacific coast. From media shown so far, new machine creatures will definitely be on Aloy’s agenda, including some that look based off crocodiles and giant tortoises as she explores the new region’s lakes and rivers.
It’ll surely be a while yet before we get any new information regarding the characters in the new region as well, so sit tight and we’ll see if and when more will be shown off at events later during the year. So here’s an oft repeated question: what would you want to see most when Horizon Forbidden West releases in 2021?
