Highly anticipated PS5 and PS4 title Horizon Forbidden West is reportedly facing a delay which pushes back the game’s release date to 2022.
Previously, it was widely believed that the game is set to release towards the end of this year during the holiday season, when Sony announced that God of War: Ragnarok is to be a 2022 release. Now, the sequel to Horizon Zero Dawn is expected to join God of War: Ragnarok to release next year, with its launch window believed to be in Q1 of 2022.
Bloomberg’s Jason Schreier confirmed the delay.

Previously, Herman Hulst of PlayStation Studio commented the following regarding the game’s release:
“For Horizon, we think we are on track to release this holiday season. But that isn’t quite certain yet, and we’re working as hard as we can to confirm that to you as soon as we can.”
These delays are rather common. Just a few days ago, it was revealed in Toei’s financial plans that Digimon Survive, the upcoming video game for the Digimon franchise will also be delayed to 2022.
Regardless, we feel that it is better for games to be delayed and worked on into perfection than to be released incomplete and full of bugs.
