Tencent has announced a new branch of their Honor of Kings multimedia IP- the publisher would be making a fighting game.
In a trailer posted to Weibo, it’s revealed that the Honor of Kings fighting game features platform-based brawling, not unlike games like Super Smash Bros or Nickelodeon All-Star Brawl.
That being said the title also features a sort of adventure mode, where you face off against normal enemies akin to a side-scrolling brawler.
The game also has an unofficial English title, Dawn of the Stars, and is available to pre register on the website.
Considering the lack of information posted anywhere else, or even an official title, it’s safe to assume that for the time being, the game will only be releasing in China for mobile devices.
Here are the playable characters shown off in the trailer, which span both playable characters from the base game as well as neutral creeps:
- Kai
- Sun WuKong
- Yu Ji
- Xiao Qiao
- Beast of the Canyon
- Lu Ban No. 7
Honor Of Kings is one of the most profitable mobile games in China, having also been published outside the country under the name Arena of Valor.
In recent years Tencent has sought to invest more in the brand, releasing spinoff games like Honor of Kings World, well as relaunching the English version of the game under the Honor of Kings name.
