HONOR has just launched the affordable HONOR 8C recently, and now they are ready to offer another powerful mid-range smartphone for the market. It is the HONOR 20 Lite which we got the chance to try out the device beforehand. Read the HONOR 20 Lite review below for our thoughts about the phone!
*HONOR 20 Lite is priced at RM949.
Design
HONOR 20 Lite comes in a 6.21 inches FHD+ display with a waterdrop notch design. It offers up to 19.5:9 aspect ratio, as well as over 90% screen-to-body ratio. The model we get is in Phantom Blue, which features a mix of gradient colours (blue and purple) on its glass back panel. It shows different patterns when you view it from different angles and it looks absolutely beautiful.
On the front, HONOR 20 Lite‘s waterdrop notch houses a 32MP AI front camera. While on the back, it is having a 24MP + 8MP + 2MP triple rear AI camera – an amazing camera setup for a mid-range smartphone. It still has a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, but there is face unlock feature available too.

Camera
Like we mentioned earlier, it is still rare for a mid-range smartphone to feature a triple camera setup. HONOR 20 Lite comes with a 24MP main camera, an 8MP ultra-wide sensor and a 2MP depth sensor. As these cameras also come with AI features such as scene recognition, it offers a decent camera performance at most conditions. There is even a night mode to produce great quality photos at night.
The front selfie camera is a really good one at 32MP. As you might expect, the selfie camera comes with features like AI beautifications and AR lens. From our experience, we can take bright and clear selfies in both outdoor and in-door (backlit) situations, which is quite impressive.
Gaming Performance
Powered by Kirin 710 processor and 4 GB RAM, HONOR 20 Lite can handle multitasking and mobile gaming at ease. Although it can’t run every mobile game at the highest graphics settings, the gaming performance is smooth with stable FPS thanks to the GPU Turbo 2.0.
The few games we tested with HONOR 20 Lite are PUBG Mobile, Laplace M and Bleach Mobile 3D. It can only run PUBG Mobile at HD graphics, but the maps render pretty fast while we are in-game. Laplace M and Bleach Mobile 3D perform well on the device, it doesn’t get overheated rapidly too.
Battery
Games like Laplace M require lots of grinding, and HONOR 20 Lite doesn’t disappoint us in its battery performance. It features a modest 3,400mAh battery that only used up 10% after 30 minutes on Laplace M. You can expect it to easily go through a day (under normal usage) without having to recharge.
Verdict
We don’t know the price for HONOR 20 Lite yet, but it will be a worth and affordable one. Aside from having the triple camera, it is gorgeous in its design and decent in its gaming performance. It should be in your consideration list if you are looking for a good looking smartphone with a triple camera and good performance, but short of budget.
