It has been over half a year since HONOR 10 was launched in Malaysia, and now HONOR is offering a budget version of its flagship! Coming at a lower price tag, HONOR 10 Lite is more affordable for those who wish to own an HONOR flagship device. We tested out the device, so here is our HONOR 10 Lite review on its performance and design!
The Design and Display
The HONOR 10 Lite is actually available in an aurora gradient glass design, just like HONOR 10. Sadly the model we get is the Sapphire Blue version that doesn’t come with any colour fading design, but it still has the mirror-like back that reflects lights beautifully.
The device features a 6.21-inch FHD display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio and an impressive 90%+ screen-to-body ratio. There is only a dewdrop notch on the top to house the front camera, which offers a wider display and better viewing experience.
While on the back, we have a fingerprint scanner at the middle, as well as the dual rear camera aligned to the left corner. Compared to HONOR 10, HONOR 10 Lite is a little bit heavier and thicker at 162g and 8mm. It fits perfectly on our palm thanks to the curved edges.

Camera
HONOR 10 Lite features a pair of pretty powerful rear cameras for a budget smartphone. The AI dual cameras come in 13MP + 2MP, along with a wide F/1.8 aperture lens that could pick up details better in dark environment. The AI-powered camera recognizes up to 22 scenarios and makes optimal adjustments according to the different scenarios. There is a super night shoot mode too, which it offers an anti-shake feature so that you can take stunning night shots.
The 24MP AI front camera is one of the best features on HONOR 10 Lite. Thanks to the 4-in-1 light fusion technology and exposure compensation technology, you can capture a gorgeous selfie no matter in day or night. The front camera also recognizes 8 selfie scenarios, then helps you to optimize the background so you stand out more.
The smartphone offers an improved AI beautification feature that customizes beauty effects based on your age, gender and skin tone. You can appear beautiful yet natural without much effort using HONOR 10 Lite! Various lightings effects such as butterfly lighting and soft lighting are available for you to adjust as well.
Performance and Battery Life
HONOR 10 Lite powers a Kirin 710 chipset combined with 3GB RAM. As usual, we tested the smartphone by running some of the recently popular games such as PUBG Mobile, Utopia: Origin and MU ORIGIN 2. Although some of them couldn’t run perfectly at its best graphics settings (well, it is a budget smartphone after all), we still get a stable gaming experience mostly thanks to the GPU Turbo technology.
The smartphone also comes with 32GB storage that is enough to store your important apps. If that is not enough, you can expand it to 512GB or even more using your own personal hard drive. The 3400mAh battery offers a decent battery life too.
The Verdict
We don’t know the official price for HONOR 10 Lite in Malaysia yet, but it will be under RM1000 judging from its price in China, which is about RM841 for the 4GB RAM model. Although it is budget-priced, HONOR 10 Lite is packed with great features that worth more than its price. It should be in your consideration list if you are having a tight budget!
