Hong Kong Hololive fans have banded together to buy a special wrapping for a bus to celebrate Vtuber Uruha Rushia ‘s birthday on the 22nd of January.
Organized by the HK Vtuber Bus Production, they’ve booked Hong Kong public bus license plate NT8619 to sport custom Uruha Rushia livery from January 20th until March 17th.
The livery features multiple illustrations of Uruha Rushia, all done by artist Waka Ryou featuring Rushia’s various outfits, including her latest schoolgirl-themed design.
According to the organizers the bus will be serving route 208, which goes from Broadcast Drive to Tsim Sha Tsui East for the first 4 weeks before having regular routes around the city for the next 4 weeks.
“ There will be lightboxes showing birthday messages too , so if you are in Hong Kong, please come and visit them !“, they said in a tweet.
Redditors had congratulated the group for pulling this off, joining the likes of other public fan appreciation such as the Times Square Billboard for Ninomae Ina’Nis and the other ad project to send off Kiryu Coco.
“Holy cow, this is fantastic! Things like this makes you feel that united we can do almost everything! Eternal respect to everyone who helped with this bus!”, writes one redditor.
“This is the kind of out-in-the-wild happenings that make me so proud of the fandom. They even got both the pink and green hair sides down – because who can choose?”, writes one more. “I hope Rushia sees it and knows that the the fans are proud to display their oshi to the unsuspecting world at large !”
