Hololive has made its first official anime appearance, with first gen members Fubuki and Matsuri appearing in the latest episode of the Detective Is Already Dead.
The scene in the 3rd episode of the anime has the two in their regular outfits, hosting a TV program about Idols and introducing the character Yui Saikawa as one of the top idols in the business.
Unlike the previous Hololive cameo in an anime, this one happened with full blessing by COVER Corporation, so we won’t have to worry about a messy fallout after the fact such as with the Pekora easter egg.
It’s a fun little easter egg to feature the Hololive talents in The Detective Is Already Dead- after all, the company has them labeled as idols, it makes sense they would be hosting a program about idols.
This is actually the second time Hololive has dipped their feet in anime. Previously, talents Minato Aqua, Oozora Subaru and Momosuzu Nene had performed the ending song for the anime The Great Jahy Will Not Be Defeated!.
The Detective is Already Dead follows Kimizuka Kimihiko, a young boy with a penchant for getting in trouble who gets roped along by a detective with silver hair named Siesta. The anime is available to watch legally in Malaysia via the Muse Asia YouTube channel.
