Cover Corporation has announced Open Auditions for Hololive EN, letting anyone try out to be the next big Vtuber as part of the most prominent Vtuber agency.
You can sign up for the auditions via the special webpage, where you’ll have to provide information like any current Twitch or YouTube channels as well as your basic personal info.
Unlike more targeted auditions, this seems to be more of an open call- that is to say, you can apply to join Hololive, and you’ll get your debut whenever Hololive deems it fit.
Interestingly enough there’s no mention of gender on the Hololive EN Open Auditions either, so it could also be a way of covertly recruiting for the often-requested Holostars EN, the male offshoot of the idol agency. There’s also no mention of location, so don’t let that stand in the way of your Vtuber dreams.
Application Requirements
Hololive has never been secretive about its requirements to join- the main thing the agency focuses on is consistency.
Among the chief requirements are the ability to stream consistently for a whole year, with at least 3 streams a week. There’s some freedom to the schedule of the content, since you’ll be able to juggle work or school life alongside your virual idol life as well.
That being said they are looking for experienced content creators, mentioning that they’re looking for applicants with a proven track record in content distribution. It doesn’t necessarily have to be streaming though- the website lists music and illustration as valid experience as well.
On the plus side, nailing your audition gets you access to your own Vtuber avatar designed and rigged by Cover Corporation, as well as smartphone rental to use that avatar properly.
Finally, you will also need to be 18 years old to actually apply.
Hololive EN’s Success
Hololive EN has pretty much been off to a great start, having had 3 rounds of debuts in the past year with HoloMyth, IRyS and the most recent Holocouncil debuts.
Given that they largely consist of out-of-Japan talent, it makes sense that they’d be expanding the branch even further, since there’s a much wider net for applicants.
