IO Interactive has announced that Hitman 3 will be changing into Hitman World of Assassination for PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC via Steam.
Starting from January 26th, all existing Hitman 3 versions will be changed into Hitman World of Assassination that will include access to both Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 via their Access Pass System. In addition, all current owners of Hitman 3 across all its platform will be receiving this upgrade for free.
IO Interactive mentioned the purpose for this change is to simplify the purchase experience for new players by streamlining the offerings currently on the stores down to two products. These will replace the existing ways to buy Hitman 1, 2 and 3.
Here is an overview of the two products mentioned:
- Hitman World of Assassination
- Includes Hitman 3, Hitman 2 Standard Access Pass and Hitman 1 Game of the Year Access Pass
- Hitman World of Assassination Deluxe Pack
- Includes Hitman 3 Deluxe Pack, Hitman 3 Seven Deadly Sins Collection and Hitman 2 Expansion Pass
The three DLC packs included in the Deluxe Pack will also be part of Steam’s Complete the Set feature where you can pay for an even split for whichever content of the three that you have not owned yet.
An important thing to note is that when the changes goes live, standalone products for Hitman 1 and Hitman 2 will no longer be in sale. However, existing versions of the two game will still be playable regardless of the changes.
