A new Pokemon has been discovered in the Hisuin Region for Pokemon Legends Arceus: the Hisuin Voltorb.
Here is a trailer showing off its shocking power:
“This enigmatic Pokémon has a glossy, spherical body. It looks very similar to the Poké Balls of the Hisui region, with the wood-grain-like makeup of its body’s surface and the hole on the top of its head.
There seem to be countless seeds packed inside Hisuian Voltorb. Occasionally, it spouts these seeds out of the hole in its head. However, no one knows exactly what it’s like inside the Pokémon’s body because inside the hole, it’s pitch-dark. It’s impossible to see anything even if one peers into the hole.”
The Hisuin Voltorb is an electric/grass type, likely due to the fact that it is based on the Hisuin pokeballs which are made of wood. It is also noted as shooting seeds out of the hole in its head.
The appearance of a Hisuin voltorb also implies the existence of a Hisuin electrode, voltorb’s evolution as we have yet to have a regional variant that evolves back into its regular variant.
Voltorb has always been seen as one of the less well-received pokemon of generation one, with many fans seeing it as a lazy design due to just being a “Pokeball with eyes”. Between the Hisuin forms of voltorb and the new evolutions for Stantler and Basculin, also generally unpopular pokemon, it seems that Pokemon Legends is going out of its way to give some of these less liked creatures another chance.
Pokemon Legends Arceus will be released for Nintendo Switch on the 28th of January 2022.
